“We Day” was this week in Toronto. What the heck is “We Day?” Another day dedicated to couples and the greeting card industry? No, it’s not Singles Awareness Day, people. Let me explain…
“We Day” was founded by Craig and Marc Keilburger, founders of the Free the Children Foundation. If you don’t know who these guys are, you should google them. It’ll make you feel like you aren’t doing enough in this world, and let’s face it. We’re not. “We Day” is a day dedicated to inspiring and empowering our country’s youth to become more involved in the world’s current social issues. Actors, actresses, and singers came out to help support the cause, as well as some pretty inspirational peeps that will make your jaw drop. Bake sales, charity fun runs and car washes add up, people. They add up to millions of dollars that can be used to change entire villages in places you’ve never dreamed of unpacking your suitcase. Take part in this. It’s your world and your future. Together, you can make it a good one.
Anyways, apart of the splendid show was Canada’s hottest new band, Neverest. You guys know I love them. Go ahead and read the other articles I’ve written about them – it’s blatantly obvious!. While attending the “We Day” festivities, I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing them all by my lonesome. ALL BY MY LONESOME! Well, just me and my racing heart beat.
I’m not going to give away everything that was said during our time together. I’m afraid you’re going to have to scroll down and press play to see for yourself. I can give some hints though….
Will they be touring Europe? Who inspires them? What was their reaction when they found fan sites dedicated to them on the net? Which female celebrity would they like to swap bodies with? Who is the most likely to watch a RomCom on a day off? They answered them all in lengthy detail. They are quite articulate young men!
If these next few minutes aren’t enough Neverest to get you through the day then let me make one little suggestion. Their first co-headlining tour across Canada starts TODAY! Saturday, October 1, 2011 with Alyssa Reid. They’ll be performing all their hits with a few surprises in between. I suggest you get tickets and get them fast!
Neverest’s performance during “We Day” will also be broadcast on tv on Much Music on Sunday, October 30, 2011 if you would like to catch their set or would like to see what “We Day” is all about. I suggest both.
I’d just like to say a small shout out to Jonathan and Jawsh from the Neverest team. Thanks for the great opportunity and awesome company in the back aisles of the ACC. I uber appreciate it.
